Certification proves that you have an advanced proficiency in medical billing and gives you an advantage over your non-certified counterparts.

Requirements to Take the Certified Medical Billing Specialist (CMBS) Exam

Enroll in an accredited medical billing program Receive an “A” in the program Contact the Medical Association of Billers (MAB) to schedule the certification exam approximately 30 days after completion of the medical billing program Send (1) a check for $199 to pay for the exam and (2) a letter stating your name and address so you can receive your test results Coordinate a proctor for the Certified Medical Billing Specialist (CMBS) examination Study for the certification exam using the guidelines and study information provided from MAB. Take the CMBS exam
