Whats an easier way to learn these medical terms for my Medical Billing course?

I am studying to become a Medical Billing Specialist and have to learn a bunch of medical terms. Is there a better way to memorize all of these prefixes, roots, combining forms, and suffixes that make up all the medical terms? Please help. There is just too much to memorize all at once…I don’t see how doctors do it!
Im a stay at home mom and doing this on my own free time. My husband works long hours and doesnt really hep much with my studying. I study the best I can just need a little boost on better memorization of all these. Not very easy with 2 little ones to look after, both under the age of 2.

I am currently attending college to be a Certified Medical Assistant. In my first semester I had to take Medical Terms. I asked my instructors the same thing. Is there an method to learning this terms? They replied that this is the only course that requires actual memorization. A lot of help that was. Anyway, I used flash cards. Also, as time goes on you will apply these terms and they will begin to make sense. For example, just about everyone knows what a tonsillectomy is, right? The suffix ‘ectomy’ means excision or to remove. And we all know what the tonsils are. We know this because we ourselves or someone we know has experienced tonsillitis; ‘itis’ means inflammation ‘tonsils’ well, tonsils. Anyway, it will come to you. There is no way you will remember them all. Good Luck!
P.S. In medical billing knowing the medical terms and their definition is the least of your worries. Getting the ICD-9, CPT codes correct is the most important. If the codes are wrong you don’t get paid. (I have four years in medical billing)

If you just learn the prefixes and suffixes – everything else is just a small word in between.
