What does the typical workday for a Medical Biller look like? What is the job description?

I am considering a part-time job or work-at-home business and would like a general idea of the kind of work that this is.

I would strongly suggest you not work from the home-business model until you have experience first, as the experience and ability to interact and learn will benefit you tremendously.
Many of the home-based business models of medical billing can be costly or not provide you with much income. You may have to bid on jobs, and not may providers will accept your bid without experience. It may be up to you to market and sell your business.
Your work will consist of getting materials, reading the materials, and then filling that data into UB-92’s or HCFA 1500’s. You will be evaluated on your accuracy. With some companies, you will not be compensated unless you have 100% accuracy.
There will be a lot of variables to the home-based business model. Try working in an office to make sure you’d like it before you try doing it out of the home.
