The medical world holds a rich vein of different occupations from the obvious nurse and doctor occupations to adminstrative occupations. My sister wanted to work in this vocation, but she wasn’t sure exactly what she wanted to do. She stumbled upon the resource in the resource box below, it has lots of tips, and it aided her to decide what she wanted to do. They have guidance with other jobs too.
Yes, you can learn the job while working. You have to pay attention to details, go over your facts two times & make sure you have completed all the necessary steps.
It helps to have an ordinary pad ( 8 1/2 X 11″) and write down each step by step instruction as you learn it. You can’t possible remember everything you are taught so it helps to have a book with the steps all written down so you can refer to points as you work.
I was transferred to a job in NYC that was extremely detailed, flexible, with many different daily tasks…if I hadn’t written everything down I would have been lost. It took me about 3 months to remember all the steps to do for different aspects of the job. I used to stay late to finish up & even went on my own on Saturdays to keep up with my filing because I was slow at the job while learning.
I suggest you do your best, make notes & refer to them, keep a quiet demeanor & listen to learn as much as possible while being pleasant (not talkative). I’m sure you will do fine as you become more familiar with the job. Good Luck
