Is the effect that Obama’s healthcare bill will have a legitimate concern?

Some libs say that our concern that the healthcare bill result in rationing is untrue, is this right?

Are our concerns that the healthcare bill will result in bad things legitimate concerns?

  1. dolphin314etc says:

    Totally legitimate concerns.

80% of the American people are fully satisfied with their healthcare and insurance arrangements.

Of the 40 million uninsured, 80% of them are minorities (black, hispanic, indian, etc).

So if all healthcare is merged together in one big pot, there will be a massive transfeer of wealth from persons who have earned first rate healthcare to persons who are presently outside the system.

The uninsurable are as they are for three reasons:

    1. they have mortal illnesses, so no sane insurance company will touch them.

    2. they have lifestyle habits that are incorrigible and which are bound to make them extremely expensive to care for, so no sane insurance company will touch them.

    3. they have no money or access to money, they already live 99% on various kinds of doles, thus they can’t pay premiums, so no sane insurance company will touch them.

Almost every one of the 40 million have at least one of these features. Many have two or more.

For a person to be insurable by a sane insurance company, their present state of health has to be good, and stable. Their lifestyle behaviors have to at least not be inconsistent with the maintainance of their health. Their future health has to be an honest bet, such that maybe they will have future health, and maybe they won’t, and right now nobody knows or can say whether they will or won’t. That’s an honest bet.

Sane insurance companies are in the betting business. They will accept almost any honest bet. But they will not accept surefire liabilities just for the joy of punishing their shareholders and going out of business.

When health insurance is written on an “honest bet” theory pools of people are created who then honestly share and spread risks among each other. No sane person minds being in a pool where everyone else in it is an “honest bet”. I’ll cover your unknown risk, if you will cover mine, and so for a small fee, we can both be covered against truly unlikely but possible major risks.

But no sane person wants to be paying premiums into a system where many or most of the people are health basktecases — not honest risks — houses that have already burned down or been flooded out — people that are already very sick and expensive to care for.

    Why not?

    Rising premiums that’s why not.

So the public option is basically “the crazy insurance company” which covers everybody, no matter what. Like crazy Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac that loaned money to “no documents” people no matter what. These liar loans are now all being sent to the “bad bank” aka the Federal Reserve balance sheet.

When people can’t pay premiums, their premiums are reimbursed to tham by “refundable tax credits”. This means the money goes in a circle and that the US Treasury winds up paying for the ACORN people’s public option coverage. Covering 40 million new people — the very worst from a risk perspective — is not going to be a money saver no matter how you figure it — no matter who scores it, and CBO agrees.

Obama will raid the Medicare Trust Fund by denying coverage and rationing coverage and having treatment protocols and drug protocols, so the people over 65 who have spent a lifetime earning decent healthcare protection will now be thrown in with the 40 million to get what they can from a nightmare system.

The children of illegals (who themselves are legal citizens) will have better coverage than a retired Army Colonel with 30 years of service who was supposed to get Tricare (the best of the best coverage).

It’s a massive transfer of wealth from the entitled-by-earning-it people to the Emma Thompson street people of the howling mob.

    It’s 1917 in Moscow.

Eldrige Cleaver, Emma Goldman, Saul Alinsky, Karl Marx, be proud — your guy has crept toward Jerusalem to be born — your rough beast is now in charge of the world.
