Is it legal to cash a medical insurance check?

Is it legal for somebody to go to jail after cashing an insurance check that was sent to them to pay a medical bill? This is after pament arrangements have already been made with the company. And is it legal for that company to keep harassing you even if you are paying it on time?

If you knew the check was not supposed to be written to you, then yes it can be against the law. You are responsible for returning the check to the insurance company and letting them know of their error.
It is not legal for you the company to be harrassing you over a payment that is being made on time. You can write them a letter
and demand they stop calling you. By law, they would have to. And then you can just pay on time. If the bill goes past due, they are allowed to contact you by letter to notify you they are turning it over to a collection agency.
If the check was made payable to you, then its not illegal. You can do whatever you want with the check. But you are still responsible for your medical bills. If the check was payable to someone else and you cashed it, that is illegal.
It is not legal for anyone to harrass you. Tell them to stop or you will report them and tell them you are recording the conversation, even if your not. That is enough to get them to leave you alone.
