I work as a file clerk in a medical billing office. I stand most of the day which is hard for me since I?

am getting older. The job is not mentally difficult. There is an opening for a sit down job as a biller & they will pretty much train me if I get it. The money is about the same. I would like the chance to learn a new skill & I enjoy helping people on the phone. My present job is not very challenging. What do you suggest?
I’m just afraid I might not be able to do it & then won’t have a job. I have excellent benefits with both jobs.
Both jobs are within the same company & building. Sorry.

I would say go for the job. FInd out just how much training they would give you and what kind. Is it on the job training where someone in the department trains you or do they offer a program for you to take a class at a local college? If they do on the job training how long will they train you? Remember that even after your training if you are stuck on something or don’t remember a particular thing there is no shame in asking a co-worker. Generally, co-workers are there to help each other out. Don’t be afraid to go for the position. The only thing that’s holding you back from getting it is you..when you sit down for the interview you need to show that you are confidient, eager and show them that you are capable of learning the position.

Go for it!! Standing up all day is bad for anyone, whatever age. If they’re going to train you, take a chance and become a biller.

I find that my memory’s getting a little hazy as I get older and I don’t learn as quickly. So I take several supplements to boost my memory: “Brain B-12″ (methylcobalamin), fish oil, and a liquid calcium & mineral supplement. Ginseng is supposed to help, too. You can also use Vitamin C to boost your energy level.

P.S. Don’t be afraid to ask lots of questions when training. And take lots of notes.
