Do you need a degree to become a medical biller?

I would like to work from home and looking into healthcare and looking into medical billing or coding , would I have to go to school for it? if so is the school expensive?

    YES.To become a medical biller, you need to obtain an accredited degree from a medical billing course.

    There are many medical billing colleges out there. From my experience, medical billing training does cost money, as all higher education will cost you.

    You can apply for pale grants, and government grants. Most places will work out payment arrangements to work with you.

    The ONLY time you need a degree instead of a certficate is if you are going into management. There are levels of coding/billing in Administrative Management in hospital and clinic settings that require the degree. For entry level positions, the certificate is fine.
