for example
i kno someone who wants to get birth control pills
and she wants to use her insurance to get them
but she doesnt want her parents to find out
will they?

Depends on the Doctors office.
Usually a Bill will come in the mail and say she had a pelvic exam. Then the insurance will send an EOB -explaining how much of the bill was covered. The only thing she might be able to do is ask the doctors office to send the paperwork in her name.
Usually the birth controls pills won’t show on the bill because she picked them up and paid for them.
mine doesn’t, but it might be different with another insurance company and/or doctor
Neither the insurance company nor the doctor can disclose the name of the drug that the daughter has received to the parents. She is protected by HIPPA laws that are designed to protect her privacy.
Be aware however that a lot of companies will not pay for birth control for dependent children. If she goes to the doctor only to have it prescribed and it is not covered by the plan she will receive and explanation of benefits that says something along the line of “The listed condition is not covered for dependent children” and that may cause the parents to start asking questions of the child.
